Check out what kids and adults are saying about the Phelps Youth Pavilion!

"Visited the Phelps Pavilion when the grandkids were here earlier in the month. What a terrific facility so clean and organized and the staff working that day were extremely friendly."
- Donna

“MOM!! I got to milk a fake cow and it made noise every time I squirted it!”
- Caleb Krall

"Yassie's birthday party was a great hit!  Everything was perfect.  The kids loved the activity and some of them including Yassie lingered when it was time to go to the Pavilion to finish their activity!  The Pavilion was a definite hit and good thing I got the Passport, all three of my kids were asking to come back and all the kids had such a fun time."
- Goli Buchanan

"My pre-schoolers took a tour today and they all had a really nice time & they thought that the Youth Pavilion was GREAT and the staff was EXCELLENT!"
- Stephanie Dunakey, Lincoln Elementary teacher

“This place is amazing! It is very interactive and there are lots of things for kids to do. Every classroom should visit.”
- Mrs. Boehmer, Pre-K teacher

"This is an amazing space for kids and adults. The night the city council toured, we could barely get people to leave the exhibits in time for our meeting. I liked one councilman's comment: I can't believe this is in Waterloo. It's like something you'd see in Chicago. Congratulations to all who made it possible."
- Carolyn Cole, VGM and City of Waterloo Councilwoman

"This is a wonderful addition to the Cedar Valley. We are very fortunate to have dedicated donors, staff, volunteers, and community leaders who helped make this happen. Great to have this preview."

- Mary Ann Burk, Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa

"Wow! That looks like an unforgettable experience for kids!" (after seeing a news story about the Pavilion)

- Deb

"I have always been impressed with and appreciated the staff and the way they treated us and our younger students.   We have been given wonderful tours, permitting the children age appropriate interactions and  time to enjoy most every area without making us feel rushed.  Thank you for the past and I look forward to the future of my preschool classes and the Phelps Youth Pavilion."

, Small Wonders Learning Center at Waterloo Christian School

"Preschool curriculum is play-based.  Phelps is based on student inquiry and exploration which is a prek science goal.  Language experiences happened in authentic settings; when building a house together students talked about their ideas as they made them happen.  Dramatic play experiences with puppets, costumes and music for children provided the springboard for creative spirits to soar!  A wonderful assortment of multicultural children's books which address and nurture concepts about print-another prek goal, awaited those who took a quiet moment to pause from play."
- Lincoln Elementary teacher
